The 2024 Toyota 4Runner: Fresh Colors and Enhanced Standard Technology

Toyota is continuing its 2024 lineup expansion, and this time, it’s the turn of the beloved 4Runner SUV. While the durable mid-size model retains its familiarity for the upcoming model year, Toyota has decided to introduce several updates, including two fresh colors and a plethora of standard features.

In the 2024 model year, the 4Runner will be available in various trims, including SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited, and TRD Pro. Regardless of the chosen trim, the vehicle relies on a 4.0-liter V6 engine, generating 270 horsepower (201 kW/274 PS) and 278 lb-ft (377 Nm) of torque. This robust powertrain allows all trim levels to tow up to 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg).

The first of the new colors added to the 2024 4Runner lineup is named “Underground.” The second, exclusive to the TRD Pro trim, is called “Terra.” The earth-toned paint complements the Black TRD alloy flow-form wheels equipped with Nitto Terra Grappler tires.

The TRD Pro trim is tailored for off-road adventures, boasting Fox shocks with piggyback-style remote reservoirs to maintain damping performance on rugged trails. It also features a robust 1/4-inch-thick aluminum skid plate with prominent red TRD lettering and a TRD roof rack.

On the other hand, the TRD Off-Road trim offers the option of equipping Toyota’s Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, enhancing off-road performance without compromising on-road ride comfort.

Completing the TRD lineup for 2024 is the 4Runner TRD Sport, which, unlike the others designed for off-roading, is tailored for on-road performance. Utilizing a Cross-Linked Relative Absorber System suspension, Toyota claims that the TRD Sport delivers improved on-road handling.

All 2024 models will come equipped with Toyota Safety Sense P, a suite of driver assistance technologies, including pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, sway warning, automatic high beams, high-speed dynamic radar cruise, and more.

Unfortunately, pricing and availability details for the 2024 model lineup have not been disclosed at this time.
